Conferences and Convenings

UHAI EASHRI considers it important to create spaces for activists and allies working in the East African LGBTI and sex worker movements by organising conferences and convenings. These conferences and convenings  create spaces for activists and allies to:

·         discuss relevant issues

·         strategise on direction and action

·         share lessons learned and best practices

·         gather and track trends in the sector

·         reflect on the funding strategy

·         create networks and build greater alliances between groups in the region and beyond

·         explore new thinking and innovation.

We organise a regional, biennial conference that brings together activists, donors, partners and allies working in the LGBTI, sex worker and feminist movements, women's rights, human rights, health advocacy organisations and other relevant stakeholders; for the Changing Faces Changing Spaces Conference (CFCS). The sixth CFCS conference was held in July 2017.You can read more about it in the conference report found here.
